The nonlinearity of art history, form and content Art and Shock - working clichés, art as a reflection of society Readymade, appropriation and deskilling in art Contemporary Art Terminology (Part 1) Contemporary Art Terminology (Part 2) Collage as a cultural strategy The origins of the avant-garde, depicting and non-depicting art, the foundations of abstract art Grid and monochrome - spiritual and rational principles in creation, postmodern and contemporary abstraction How Conceptualism Changed the Art World Painting and photography - the entry of technical images into painting/pop art, hyperrealism and the influence of post-photography The Postmodern Paradigm - Neo-Expressionism, Neo-Conceptualism and Star Wars

Learning Outcomes

LOs1 Terminologically name the works, tendencies, and art forms of the second half of the twentieth century, the understanding of which determines quality gallery pedagogy and art pedagogy LOs 2 Understand the parallel, non-linear, functioning of artistic tendencies in the practice of the art educator LO3 Use and apply basic twentieth-century art terminology that the student will use in the profession of gallery educator LOs4 Demonstrate an understanding of the emergence of contemporary tendencies in specific works of art LOs5 Interpret and explain the contemporary art exhibitions visited in relation to current themes and visuals, essential for communicating art LOs6 Interpret and summarize the essence of the work of selected personalities of the art of the second half of the twentieth-century
